The education and rehabilitation of child labourers and school dropouts in Mysore initiated by Don Bosco is a community based project involving as many people as possible.

The project promotes various activities in which duties and responsibilities towards children are highlighted to be carried out by families and the community. Thanks to the daily presence of community leaders, teachers and “Barefoot Counselors/Mediators, support and supervision on programs are assured

Female volunteers would do better in this project. In the community, most of the time they will be dealing with children and mothers of children. Hence female volunteers will have better access.

They should be ready to go to the community and they should have a love for the poor especially poor children.
