The project is part of the foundation Cielo Azul . The foundation works in different communities around Otavalo (30.000 people) with indigenous people in their rural schools. At the moment there are 11 schools cooperating with Cielo Azul”
The school has 63 students with special needs. To reach the aim of the project the students receive two hours of indigenous language Quechua each week. The teachers bring into discussion cultural diversity in Ecuador in the everyday teaching. At the school children are taught subjects such as Math, Science, English, Quechua, Social Studies, Art, Physical Education and Computation.
The work with kids with special needs assumes patience, empathy and openness
