The subject of the project is cultural diversity and indigenous people. The aims are to form mutual understanding and respect among different cultural group. The school provides education for first grade students through high school. There are about 200 students (6-16 age) at the school.
To reach the aim of the project the students receive two hours of indigenous language Quichua each week. The teachers bring into discussion cultural diversity in Ecuador in the everyday teaching. At the school children are taught subjects such as Math, Science, English, Quichua, Social Studies, Art, Physical Education and Computation.
The volunteer must have basic English skills, be organized and motivated. The ability to play an instrument or to dance is a plus.
